New painting, sorta

This peice has been through three incarnations. Each very different, but each leaving a bit of themselves behind.

I find a lot of my work does that, and I know I'm far from alone. 

Most beginning artists hold everything they do as precious. We quickly learn though, that gesso is our best friend. 

There is something liberating about gessoing over a particularly cringe worthy effort.
